I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I work, and live, the Boonwurung, and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

Observe, Drink or Scream the Land, 2024. Participatory performance, clay layout based on the map of destruction in Lebanon, 2–26 Oct 2024, Associated Press.

The opening night participatory performance Observe, Drink or Scream the Land (2024) featured the artist reading a poem and screaming within a clay installation representing Lebanon’s map of destruction. A clay sphere symbolised the devastation’s scale. The scream performance incorporated her niece projected drawings, inviting the audience to observe, scream or consume a Bentonite wellbeing drink. The closing poem was written and recorded by the artist’s niece residing in Lebanon, with translation from French read by the artist’s mother  (in Arabic) and the artist’s sister ( in English).
The performance was followed by the  Lebanese music ensemble Tarabeat.
